The Heart of the Role: Ensuring Unwavering Quality
As our Quality Assurance Pharmacist, you will be the guardian of our product integrity and compliance. Your daily activities will span the entire cultivation lifecycle, from initial propagation to final harvesting. You will play a critical role in upholding GACP (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards, as well as SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) regulations. This means meticulous oversight, comprehensive documentation, and proactive process improvement will be at the core of your responsibilities.
Key Focus Areas: What You’ll Be Doing
Your days will be diverse and impactful, including:
- Daily Compliance: Ensuring all cultivation activities consistently meet GACP & GMP standards.
- Process Monitoring: Overseeing propagation, growth cycles, pest management, and harvesting activities.
- Internal Audits: Conducting routine walk-throughs and internal audits to identify and address potential non-compliances.
- Documentation Mastery: Managing comprehensive documentation, batch records, environmental monitoring, and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) control.
- QMS Support: Actively supporting and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Team Development: Training cultivation teams and ensuring all competency records are up to date, fostering a culture of quality.
- Issue Resolution: Participating in audits and managing deviations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and regulatory risks.
Eligibility & Qualifications: Are You the Right Fit?
We are looking for a candidate who not only meets the technical requirements but also embodies a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: A B.Pharm degree is essential, coupled with SAPC (South African Pharmacy Council) registration.
- Experience: 1-2 years of practical experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is required, with experience in cannabis or herbal product manufacturing being a distinct advantage.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of SAHPRA, GACP, and GMP guidelines is crucial.
- QMS Expertise: Solid understanding of document control & QMS principles.
