Who We’re Looking For: Eligibility & Qualifications

McCabes Pharmacy is searching for enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about pharmacy and patient care. To be considered for these permanent, full-time positions, candidates should meet the following essential criteria:

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
  • Qualifications:
    • A recognized Pharmacy Technician qualification (e.g., QQI Level 5/6 in Pharmacy Technician Studies or equivalent).
    • Proven experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a community or hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable. New graduates with strong practical experience gained during their studies are also encouraged to apply.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment.
    • Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software and general IT skills.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician at McCabes Pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the pharmacy, supporting the Pharmacist in delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Accurate and efficient dispensing of prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
  • Managing stock levels, ordering, and inventory control.
  • Providing clear and concise information to patients regarding their medications.
  • Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Assisting with the preparation of dosette boxes and other patient-specific medication aids.
  • Handling cash and managing transactions accurately.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Participating in continuous training and development programs.
