Central board of secondary education CBSE board :- cbse announced new pattern for class 10 and 12 in terms wise they divided the board exam in two terms and also reduced 30 Percent syllabus in boards exam.and also the syllabus divided in two Half’s so previous term syllabus will not continue in second terms. That will be different in second terms.
As you know from 2021 all exams have objective Question and Mcq type questions will come from class 10 to 12 so students can do better in exams and they will know how is the question paper for jee and neet entrance exams.
I will give you a very practical answer..
I scored 92/100 in physics paper of 2018 CBSE board exams..
I just used one book that is “MTG CBSE CHAMPION” and YouTube 😛
That book had around 150–200 previous year questions per chapter.
I started my boards prep in December third week, before that I was busy with jee.
I had no idea what to study and how to study. Everyone had this famous dialogue that “just do ncert”. For a week I tried doing Ncert and let me tell you straight,Ncert physics for board exams is the most useless book.
I figured out that this is not the right way to go ahead with. So what I did was:—Shortlisted 2–3 channels for board level lectures on YouTube and started making notes from those lectures.
I did that for around 8 chapters(optics, semiconductors, communication system, modern physics,EM waves,AC,EMI) and for some cliche chapters like current electricity, electrostatics, magnesium I had my jee notes which were more than enough.
I just revised those 2–3 times and solved the problems from that MTG book.
I did not touch any other material, I purchased All in one physics by Arihant and Exam idea but those books were pretty lengthy and bogus.
First exam was of English on 5th march and just after a day was the physics exam. So I just had 1.5 days to revise everything. I started at around 10am on 6th march and finished my revision at 3am.Took minimal breaks for food and other necessary stuff. Slept for 3 hours before the exam.
During the exam, I found the paper to be very easy and it became very difficult to control the adrenaline rush because I felt I knew almost every question before that sweet optics problem came before my sight.
In the end I had an hour left and whole of D section which was the easiest was yet to be solved. I rushed at my peak and finally solved the complete paper before 5 minutes.
Some of the factors which I feel would have helped me was that I started very well from question 1 and maintained a very good handwriting for first 10–12 questions. Wrote more than what was needed in some questions which was a big mistake. Solved that potential energy problem which was pretty unique and it was straight out of my jee notes. I guess that would have put a good impression on the examiner as my handwriting and presentation in the D section was very bad.
Since I had a non- attending school for jee preparation, I did not give any mock test, pre boards,, did not do any previous year paper. Had no guidance of any teacher.
YouTube was the only teacher.
In the end I feel immensely satisfied by my marks because of the circumstances and time duration I had
